Top Gun Outfitters provides extensive waterfowl hunting options with access to over 80,000 acres of private land spanning a 60-mile radius of our lodge in Munday, Texas. You can expect guided hunts on lakes, ponds, flooded fields, dry fields and playa lakes throughout 8 different counties around North Texas. This diverse range of habitat allows to us to consistently put our clients on high volumes of ducks throughout the entire duration of duck season.
Typically, we hunt out of A-Frame blinds but occasionally we will use Layout blinds. Our guides set up both the blind and the decoy spread each morning before you arrive. One of the unique aspects of the central flyways path through North Texas is the wide variety of duck species you can encounter on your hunt. During the 2023-2024 season we harvested Mallards, Pintails, Wigeon, Gadwall, Green-Wing Teal, Cinnamon Teal, Northern Shovelers, Redheads, Canvasbacks, Bluebills and Buffleheads.
Top Gun Outfitters offers high-action, fully guided goose hunts in North Texas, with a focus on greater white-fronted geese (specklebellies). Wintering populations of 150,000–200,000 specks make our location prime flyway real estate, with bonus opportunities for Lesser Canadas and the occasional snow goose.
Hunts take place over dry fields using A-frames or layout blinds, with large, high-quality decoy spreads set before you arrive. Our guides scout daily and employ aggressive calling, flagging, and decoy manipulation to bring birds in close for clean, ethical shots. Whether you’re new to goose hunting or a seasoned waterfowler, you’ll enjoy a fast-paced experience in one of Texas’ most consistent goose hunting regions.
Top Gun Outfitters offers professionally guided Sandhill Crane hunts within a 60 mile radius of our lodge outside of Munday in Northern Texas. Our region is home to a vast amount of agricultural fields, which Cranes will feed on throughout hunting season. Our guides are scouting daily to ensure your group is always hunting the best spot in our area!
All of our Crane hunts take place in dry fields, primarily consisting of freshly sown wheat or cut grain. We only use the best equipment available, which consists of premium full body decoys and A-Frame or layout blinds. Here at Top Gun our guides set up both the decoy spread and the blind before your arrival in the morning.
West Texas is known for some of the best dove hunting in the United States. With a bag limit of 15 birds per day, you are sure to get plenty of shooting in. Opening weekend is typically action packed and our birds stay around until mid October. Dove hunts are great choice if you want to bring a larger group of people and enjoy a more laid back hunting experience.
We typically hunt dove in Sunflower, corn, milo or wheat fields. Occasionally we will hunt over water in the evenings if the right situation presents itself. Mourning dove are most common but we also have white wing and ringneck dove.
